ROB BURNS

Chief Executive Officer

Rob BurnsRob came to IOR from the investment banking community having managed global corporate relationships, developed new business, and advised clients on strategic transactions. He was instrumental in expanding US and European teams while covering global diversified industrial companies at Jefferies, Bank of America, JP Morgan and Schroders in New York.

Rob holds an MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a BS in Finance from Clemson University, where he spent a year studying and working abroad in London.


KENDRA MIRASOL, GMS

President 

Kendra joined IOR in 2006 following a four-year expatriate assignment in Tokyo, Japan. Her previous experience includes roles in sales, marketing and finance for RR Donnelley and Sons, Siemens and The McGraw-Hill Companies. In addition to living and working globally, Kendra has directed efforts with various not-for-profit groups and provides scholarship funding for university students to work and study abroad.

Kendra earned her MBA from The University of Chicago in Finance and Accounting and her BA in German Literature and Linguistics from the University of California, Irvine. She is proficient in German and Japanese, and has studied multiple other languages.


DOUGLAS STUART, PhD

Director, Intercultural Training & Development

Douglas oversees the management of IOR's worldwide trainer network. He is responsible for curriculum development, program delivery and strategy for IOR's program design and delivery. Doug is a recognized authority in the intercultural assessment field and is licensed to deliver and interpret a variety of tools. He is an author of several papers and is a speaker at global conferences and workshops about the topic of intercultural competence development and assessment.

Doug earned his PhD at the Illinois Institute of Technology and pursued post-graduate studies at the Illinois School of Professional Psychology. He has a Diploma in Client Centered Therapy and a Master Certification as a Developmental Coach/Consultant with the Interdevelopmental Institute.


MARK FREDERICK, PhD

Director, Global Talent Management

Mark works with business executives and global teams to improve performance in the workplace. He has deep experience in the intercultural field designing and facilitating talent management solutions for multinational corporations throughout the world. Mark is licensed to deliver and interpret several assessment tools that add value to the consultation process.

Mark holds a PhD in Comparative Literature from the University of California, Riverside, with an emphasis on Psychology and Cultural Studies. He holds BA degrees in Philosophy and German Studies from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign as well as an MA in German Cultural Studies from the University of Washington. Mark is fluent in German, proficient in French, Spanish and Dutch, and has studied Danish and Japanese.


BETH ASHWORTH

Director, Language Solutions

Beth is responsible for IOR’s language training programs and translation services. She works closely with the Business Development Managers to design customized language programs for IOR’s clients. She also oversees IOR’s team of Language Program Managers, ensuring high-quality and timely delivery of service, as well as IOR’s network of 1000+ language teachers and translators. Beth also manages the individual language programs for several clients.

Beth has a Bachelor's degree in Russian from Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota, and is in the process of completing the translation studies certificate from the University of Chicago. 


DENISE KRAUS RYAN

Director, Global Destination Services

Denise oversees all aspects of IOR’s Destination Services program delivery and quality assurance procedures throughout the world.  Her responsibilities include managing IOR’s global DS Consultant network, working closely with the Client Services team to maintain program quality and supporting the sales staff in their efforts to grow the DS business.

Denise holds a BA in Speech Communication, with a minor in Religion and Philosophy from Doane College in Crete, Nebraska and has completed coursework for an MA degree from Loyola University of New Orleans.


TONY SLADEK

Director, Information Technology

Tony manages the 24/7 company-wide support for IOR employees ensuring optimum system integration and maximum performance. He also manages IOR’s proprietary technology solution, Gateway, collaborating with the IOR Business Development team to create customized solutions for clients. Tony's previous experience includes IT management for several companies including Adobe, AT&T, Solution Systems, Moran Industries and Sof-Tek Systems.

Tony holds a BA in Finance from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana's College of Business. He also holds the following professional certifications: C.P.A., Certified Systems Professional, Certified Computer Programmer, Microsoft .Net Certified Training, SAP Business One SDK Certification. He frequently provides expert witness services in software litigation cases.
