The Technology and Compliance Manager (TCM) is responsible for managing the company’s technology operations, defining the requirements for new technology implementation and policies, and communicating them across IOR.  He/she will serve as the primary liaison with IOR’s technology development partner and oversee technology projects including upgrades and enhancements to IOR’s proprietary software systems and mobile apps.  In addition, the TCM will oversee compliance with industry and regulatory data protection standards including GDPR.

This is a part-time position of approximately 20 hours per week with flexible work times; the role is based in our Northbrook, IL office, and reports to IOR’s CEO. This position is open to individuals legally eligible to work in the United States.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversee on-going development and implementation of IOR’s proprietary software systems, Gateway and IRMA

  • Serve as primary liaison to IOR’s software development firm, Caxy, to ensure they are meeting our needs in timely and cost effective manner
  • Oversee project to integrate Gateway and IRMA into a single system; produce detailed timeline implement effective project control, report on the status and manage the project budget
  • Work closely with Caxy to oversee upgrades and enhancements to IOR’s proprietary software systems and mobile apps
  • Identify and work with “Tech Champions” for each department to facilitate new process implementation and training
  • Follow development opportunities for integrated systems with IOR clients (API)

Manage IOR’s Information Technology, Security and Data Protection

  • Manage general office IT administration; identify the need for upgrades, configurations or new systems and report to upper management; inspect the use of technological equipment and software to ensure functionality and efficiency
  • Work with the CEO to ensure adherence to industry and regulatory data protection standards, including GDPR requirements and US-Euro Privacy Shield; keep IOR technology policies updated
  • Coordinate regular GDPR and data security training for employees and contractors; educate employees and the company on important compliance requirements
  • Work closely with Business Units to ensure compliance of all contract employees

 

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Tech savvy; ability to learn and contribute to the development of IOR’s proprietary technology systems
  • Outstanding project management skills
  • Understanding of computer systems (hardware/software), networks
  • Solid technical background and ability to create and implement IT policies and systems
  • Team player, able to forge successful professional internal and external relationships
  • Excellent organization and leadership skills
  • Pro-active problem solver; initiates, presents and implements new ideas on a regular basis
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize multiple tasks that occur simultaneously
  • Outstanding verbal and written communications skills
  • Problem solving: able to approach challenging issues and implement solutions
  • International experience living/working abroad preferred
  • Positive attitude, willing to go the extra mile
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
