The Recruiting and Human Resources Associate is responsible for the identifying, interviewing and on-boarding of Destination Consultants (independent contractors) and full-time employees.  The individual will work closely with IOR’s Destination Services group to ensure the on-going quality and compliance of Destination Consultants.  S/he will also oversee general human resources functions describe below.  The Recruiting and Human Resources Associate will play an important part in building a strong employer brand for our company to ensure we attract, hire and retain the most qualified Consultants and employees.

 

This position is open to individuals legally eligible to work in the United States, is based at our headquarters in Northbrook, IL, and reports to the Director of Destination Services.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Lead Recruiting efforts for new Destination Consultants (independent contractors)

  • Actively sourcing candidates for the Destination Consultant role in the United States and Canada using online job sites, social media channels, networking and existing consultant data base
  • Screen applicants (incoming resumes and application forms) to evaluate if they meet the position requirements
  • Vetting, phone screening and interviewing candidates
  • Collect, review and approve data and hiring documents for each Consultant including resumes/CV’s, contracts and financial information; conduct background and OFAC checks
  • Respond to all inquiries from IOR Careers page on the website and other outside sources; follow up with candidates as appropriate
  • Work closely with Destination Services team to recommend and book Consultants for programs and identify future hiring needs
  • Collaborate with Destination Program Managers to ensure delivery deadlines and Consultant qualifications are met
  • Utilize IOR’s proprietary Consultant database, IRMA, to ensure all records are current and accurate
  • Research and recommend new sources for active and passive candidate recruiting

 

Collaborate with IOR Technology team to ensure compliance and [training] of Destination Consultants

  • Provide coaching and answer questions on IOR’s proprietary Destination Services App, IRMA Consultant database and Consultant Portal
  • Manage Consultant emails including set up, deactivation and on-going inquires
  • Work with Director of Destination Services and Tech Team to provide ongoing data security workshops for Consultants

Provide Human Resources administration for IOR

  • Pre-screening of applicants for all potential IOR full-time positions: screen incoming resumes and application forms; video / phone screening of candidates
  • Prepare offer letters, hire documents and background checks
  • Oversee employee on-boarding
  • Implement and utilize HR Software system to manage applicant tracking; notify departments of employee reviews; organize learning and development through Learning Management System (LMS)
  • Update and amend human resources documents including job descriptions, policies and handbooks, employment / non-compete contracts
  • Manage Summer Intern Program

 

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Outstanding verbal and written communications skills
  • Tech savvy; experience with MS Office applications; familiarity with HR software / applicant tracking systems a plus; ability to learn IOR’s proprietary technology systems
  • Team player, able to forge successful professional internal and external relationships
  • Excellent organization skills and ability to prioritize multiple projects
  • Experience with sourcing techniques – online and other
  • Positive attitude, willing to go the extra mile
  • Problem solving skills, able to approach challenging issues and implement solutions
  • International experience living/working abroad preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • 3+ years work experience (preferably in recruiting)

  • Destination Consultant program evaluations 4.5 target out of 5
  • Destination Consultant local area knowledge, communication and responsiveness – Target 4.5 out of 5
  • Recruiting turnaround time – Target = 14 days
  • Response time to consultant issues < 24 hours
