Singapore: Flag

The current flag was adopted as the national flag in 1965.

The flag of Singapore consists of two equal horizontal sections: red above white. Red symbolizes universal brotherhood and equality of man. White signifies purity and virtue.

The upper left section has a white crescent moon beside five white stars within a circle. The crescent moon represents a young nation on the ascendant (going up), illuminated by the ideals of democracy, peace, progress, justice, and equality as signified by the five stars.

What do you think democracy, peace, progress, justice and equality mean?
