  • When it comes to literature, there are various internationally known Argentine authors such as Jorge Luis Borges, Julio Cortázar, Ernesto Sábato, Manuel Puig and Osvaldo Soriano.

  • Argentina has many museums, art galleries and theaters. Various films have been internationally recognized.

  • Some typical music styles representing different regions are:

  • Tango music, from Buenos Aires, is known as the country's symbol abroad. Today it is not as popular with Argentines as it used to be.

  • Folklore music represents the rest of the country. Some folklore musicians include: Mercedes Sosa (image), Horacio Guarany, Los Nocheros and Soledad.

  • Cuarteto and cumbia are other music styles that originated in the interior of the country and are now widely appreciated.
