Working Globally

Cultural Competency - Virtual and Face-to-Face

Almost everyone in today’s workforce is working globally – whether employees are frequent business travelers or on-the-ground at corporate headquarters. IOR works with employees to develop the skills they need to confidently and successfully engage in virtual and face-to-face interactions with international colleagues, clients, and other business associates. Developing a workforce with intercultural competence at all levels is critical to becoming a truly global company.

Full-day and half-day sessions are available for all programs and can be delivered face-to-face or virtually on a web-based, interactive platform.

  • Country-Specific Business Briefings provide the in-depth, country-specific knowledge needed to work effectively in a new country or region.
  • “Working With….” Programs include in-depth country information combined with a strategic look at managing and bridging differences for more effective business relationships in the host culture.
  • Building Intercultural Competence offers a deep analysis of the language and dimensions of culture that impact business and social behavior, and skills needed to move fluidly and successfully between business cultures around the world.
  • Communication Across Cultures explores the dynamics of verbal and non-verbal interaction, the way communication styles influence workplace interactions both virtually and face-to-face, and strategies for more effective intercultural communication.
  • Cultural Communication Skills Workshop offers employees a safe environment in which to develop specific practical skills. This workshop differs from Communication Across Cultures in that participants look at examples of communication challenges with the target culture and work on improving skills such as writing emails and giving presentations.
