Repatriation Programs
The final step of a successful international assignment is re-integration back into the home culture. Many
expatriates feel out-of-step and begin seeking ways to apply their rich experiences in their workplaces and communities. We often hear, “Although I adapted well on my assignment, I never fully belonged. Now that I’m home, I don’t feel completely at home here, either. So where in the world do I belong!?” Exploring ways to leverage the global experience creates real value for the employee, the family and the company.
IOR’s repatriation program gives returning assignees the opportunity to de-brief their experiences in a structured, day-long coaching session focused on the international assignment. The employee and family discuss, document and acknowledge what they have learned, skills they have gained, and ways to apply those experiences to achieve future personal and work goals.

Youth and Teen Repatriation Programs
The accompanying Welcome Home program for youth and teens focuses on re-entry issues that research has shown are of particular concern to young people. Children and teens experience a unique set of challenges when repatriating, especially if they no longer fully identify with their home culture, or feel out of step returning. De-briefing and re-framing helps them to begin the adaptation process all over again, at home.
