IOR History
IOR has been a leader and innovator in the Global Mobility market for more than 30 years. IOR was founded by Noel Kreicker in 1979 after a “failed” expatriate experience in Bogotá, Colombia. Noel returned from Bogotá determined to make it easier for future international assignees to succeed. IOR began by offering Destination Services and Intercultural Training programs to expatriates, and soon thereafter added complementary Language Solutions and Translation services.
As companies of all sizes have become increasingly global in scope, today’s business leaders need both international experience and intercultural competence to be successful. Companies are no longer focusing only on avoiding failed assignments, but instead are taking a more forward-looking approach at developing global talent. IOR led the industry by offering a full spectrum of Global Talent Management solutions for our clients.
In 2006, Kendra Mirasol, a multi-lingual, former expatriate with extensive management experience, joined the company as part of IOR’s succession planning strategy. Kendra has helped the company achieve significant growth by focusing on client relationships, staff development and operational improvements.
Entrepreneur Rob Burns and Kendra purchased IOR from Noel in July 2010. Rob’s experience in developing and managing global client relationships, advising companies on strategic transactions, and building and leading global teams has further strengthened IOR’s management team.
IOR Global Services continues to deliver superior global support as a trusted business partner to advance our clients’ global talent across cultures. We provide integrated Global Talent Management and Mobility solutions to our clients in all 50 states and more than 70 countries worldwide. We have worked with thousands of global assignees to help them work productively and thrive in new international roles.
