  • South Korea has a temperate climate with four distinct seasons:
    • Winters are usually long, cold and dry.
    • Summers are very short, hot and humid.
    • Spring and autumn are pleasant but also short in duration

 

  • Rainfall is heavier in the summer than in the winter.

 

  • The temperature in Seoul in January is usually between -5° and - 2.5° C (23° and 27.5° F) and in July it is between 22.5° and 25° C (71°and 75° F). 

 

  • Although less vulnerable to typhoons than some of its neighboring countries, South Korea suffers from these windy rain storms that are often accompanied by high tides. One to three typhoons can be expected per year. Typhoon season in South Korea is late summer.
